|
This is to the subject contract per the attached emergency declaration issued by the Superintendent on June 6, 2019. Bids are not required under an emergency declaration.
Hudson Valley Fire, Inc. was selected by the Facilities Department because of their more than satisfactory history with the District. Their work is to provide all labor and materials to replace damaged Sprinkler System piping on the 3 floor of Paideia School 15. This work became necessary after a severe cold period during which time several of the heating units in the affected room failed. This resulted in freezing temperatures which in turn froze and cracked the sprinkler system piping.

Ladies and Gentlemen;
WHEREAS: An Emergency Declaration was issued on June 6, 2019 for Paideia School 15 “ROOF REPLACEMENT & INTERIOR RESTORATIONS” and
WHEREAS: Under this emergency declaration the District solicited general construction work for the prompt replacement of damaged 3rd floor sprinklers system piping and related work, and
WHEREAS: Hudson Valley Fire, Inc. indicated that they were capable and ready to make such improvements in the shortest time frame, certifying that they would work around the school’s operations and schedule, and
WHEREAS: the District has a substantial successful history with Hudson Valley Fire, Inc., and
WHEREAS: Hudson Valley Fire, Inc. has indicated that the maximum cost to the District of the work that they are being directed to perform is not to exceed $21,984.58,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to award the above contract to Hudson Valley Fire, Inc. 136 Washington Street, Peekskill, NY 10566 in the amount of $21,984.58 for a term of 365 calendar days.
