Rationale:
|
The New Your State Education Department (NYSED) requires New York State Districts to complete the Fire Safety Inspections and staff training on a 11-month interval, although it is referred to as the “Annual” Fire Safety Inspection and applies to all 50 buildings that are owned, operated or leased by Yonkers Public Schools.
Two responses to RFP 420 where open on January 30, 2020. Code Compliance Inspections, Inc. was the lowest bidder at $44,400 followed by Fusco Engineering at $60,000. CCI has performed this work effectively for the District from 2011 to 2019. The contract has a provision wherein that the contract can be extended twice by mutual consent and the Boards approval
ASSESMENT PROCESS:
School Facilities Management Department will evaluate performance of CCI, Inc. through progress meetings schedules in the RFP.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS, the District mandated to perform Annual Fire Safety Inspections by the New York State Education Department, and
WHEREAS, proposals were solicited and opened on January 30, 2020 in compliance with the Genera Municipal Law and Education Law for providing these services, and
WHEREAS, based upon the results of this responses to the above request for proposals and changes in the reporting required by NYSED the contract be awarded to Code Compliance Inspections, Inc., to the benefit of the District and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the contract to provide the 2020-2021 Annual Fire Safety Inspection and Staff Training for the Yonkers Public Schools be awarded to Code Compliance Inspections, Inc. 180 Isis Dr., Newburgh NY 12550 in the amount not exceed $44,400
AND BE IT FURTHERE RESOLVED: That the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into a contract for the above services.
