Rationale: Via Resolution 17.5 at their stated meeting on January 20, 2016 the Board of Trustees awarded a requirements contract to Fuller and D’Angelo P.C.Architects and Planners for an amount not to exceed $1 million. This resolution is to assign the following specific capital work under that contract which is being amended under separate resolution to $1.5 million and extending the term to January 16, 2021.

RFP 420-17-13 for the proposed work at School 17 was issued on November 8, 2017 to the 5 firms who were awarded the requirements contracts via Resolution 17.5 at the January 20, 2016 meeting. Responses were received from 4 firms on December 7, 2017. As result of the examination of the responses it was determined that F&D would be the best firm suited for this project.

This project is to be authorized for $3,650,000.00. Current capital bond funds will cover $298,200.00 for the cost of this A/E work and the remaining $3,351,800 will be funded by future bond sales.

The scope of work is to include but not necessarily be limited to the
replacement of the windows, installation of high tech security system, select interiors, select floor restoration, restroom renovations, site work and requisite asbestos abatement.

The services that F&D will provide include but are not limited to: review existing drawings, survey infrastructure and to confirm existing conditions. Confirm the scope of work and develop a project budget. Prepare construction documents and specifications for procurement of a Building Permit from the NY State Education Department, issuance of construction documents for public bid and provide the District with construction administration services.

Construction is planned for the summer of 2019 construction season.

WHEREAS: under Resolution 17.5 at the stated meeting on January 20, 2016, the Board of Education authorized the award of a requirements based, professional Architectural/Engineering services contract to Fuller and D’Angelo P.C.Architects and Planners in response to District RFQ313 “Architectural & Engineering Services for the School Facilities Management Department” for an amount not to exceed $1 million, and

WHEREAS: work as defined under that contract is required for capital project 10825, “Site and Interior Restoration” at School 17, and

WHEREAS: the response by Fuller and D’Angelo P.C. Architects and Planners to request for proposals RFP 420-17-13 issued by the Facilities Department was deemed most advantageous to the District at a cost not to exceed $295,000.00, and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to appoint Fuller and D’Angelo P.C. Architects and Planners, Road 45 Knollwood Road, Elmsford, New York 10523, to the task of providing professional Architectural/Engineering services for capital project 10825, “Site and Interior Restoration” at School 17 as per District RFP 420-17-13 for an amount of $295,000.00 effective March 1st,2018 under Contract No. 617108, “Architectural & Engineering Services for the School Facilities Management Department”.
