Term: No change in contract term.
Amount: $8,971.97
Scope: Change Order 1 for CIP 10878 “Heat Plant, HVAC Upgrades & Asbestos Abatement” – Phase 2 at Westchester Hills School 29 in the amount of $8,971.97, increasing the contract to $196,625.97 with no change in contract term.
Change Orders COP-EL-1 & 2 are due to unforeseen conditions. We will no longer be able to reuse existing lighting as previously planned. We will be installing new LED flat panel light fixtures required for lowering the existing ceilings. This will avoid conflicts of running the new hot & chilled water supply and return piping above the ceilings. This occurred in two areas thus have two separate proposals.
The total value of owner directed extra work is $23,971.97, less the contract contingency of $15,000.00, totals $8,971.97.

Resolution:

WHEREAS by Resolution 15.9 dated February 15, 2023, the Board of Education authorized the award of Contract 2023-0637 for CIP 10878 “Heat Plant, HVAC Upgrades & Asbestos Abatement” – Phase 2 at Westchester Hills School 29 to Naber Electric, Inc. for $187,654.00 and a term of 365 calendar days, and
WHEREAS in the course of executing the contracted work it was determined that additional work was required to be performed, and
WHEREAS the fee for this added work is $23,971.97, less the contract contingency of $15,000.00 totals $8,971.97, increasing the contract amount to $196,625.97, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to issue Change Order 1 to Contract 2023-0637, CIP 10878, “Heat Plant, HVAC Upgrades & Asbestos Abatement” – Phase 2 at Westchester Hills School 29 to Naber Electric, Inc. for $8,971.97, increasing the contract to $196,625.97 with no change in contract term.
