Castle Software, Inc. Term: 7/1/18 – 6/30/19 Amount: $50,490 Scope: Amendment to change Castle Learning to Castle Software, Inc. amending res 20.16, BOE approved 5/16/18; BOCS approved 5/31/18. Castle Software, Inc. will provide SSL Site License for content access to K-12 ELA & Math, 3-12 Science & Social Studies, 7-12 Spanish, 9-12 French & 7-12 Music courses for all 7-12 students, teachers & administrators. Castle Software, Inc. is a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, web based resource that will allow students to practice in preparation for unit exams, NYS assessments, and regents exams. The cost of this service is supported through CAI Software Capital Funds, which is eligible for 100% State Aid reimbursement (Computer Assisted Instruction).

Resolution:

WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to enter into a contract with Castle Software, Inc. to provide SSL Site License for content access for ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, Spanish, French and Music courses for grades K-12 for the 2018-2019 school year, WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with Castle Software, Inc. a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and, WHEREAS the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Castle Software, Inc. to provide these services, and NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Castle Software, Inc. at a cost not to exceed $50,490. It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel’s Office.
