Rationale: Junior Achievement of New York, Inc.

Scope: Junior Achievement of NY will provide its JA Company program for five classes at School 13. This program will be delivered in partnership with School 13 afterschool staff and High School Hero mentors from Lincoln High School and will provide students with an opportunity to fill a need or solve a problem in their community by launching their own start-up business, unleashing their entrepreneurial spirit.

Resolution: WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to enter into a contract with Junior Achievement of New York, Inc. to purchase consulting services to support the JA Company program which will be delivered in partnership with School 13 afterschool staff and High School Hero mentors from Lincoln High School for the 2017-2018 school year,

WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with Junior Achievement of New York, Inc., a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and,

WHEREAS the District has determined that these services can best be provided by Junior Achievement of New York, Inc., and,

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Junior Achievement of New York, Inc. at a cost not to exceed $5,000.

It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel’s Office.
