Talent Assessment, Inc.

Amount: $ 28,287.36
Scope: To provide a practical assessment exploration system and a money manager program for the autism class at Roosevelt High School. What is inherently sole source about this product/company is the intellectual property components: the curricula, the performance assessments, the reporting components and the school-to-work transition planning. These, along with the professional development for teachers, are the unique attributes this vendor provides. While the District can purchase the physical structures from any comparable vendor, the intellectual property aspects are uniquely inherent to the Practical Assessment Exploration System, and cannot be separately acquired. Consequently, I trust the District can move expeditiously to secure this important component of our efforts to enhance the educational offerings to secondary students on the Autism Spectrum. Through the incorporation of this unique teaching and assessment system, the District is bringing the program at Roosevelt High School to the next developmental stage. The department has not found a comparable system, spanning the afore-mentioned attributes, that would meet our students’ needs.

Resolution:

WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to enter into a contract with Talent Assessment, Inc.to purchase a practical assessment exploration system and a money manager program for the autism class at Roosevelt High School for the 2017-2018 school year,
WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with Talent Assessment, Inc. a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and,
WHEREAS the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Talent Assessment, Inc.to provide these services, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Talent Assessment, Inc.at a cost not to exceed $28,287.36.
It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel’s Office.
