Rationale:
|
This is to service and maintain the chemical water treatment program for the heating and cooling systems in 11 of the District schools. This will cover the treatment of boiler, feed, condensate, chilled water, condenser and closed loop hot water systems. This treatment is to limit corrosion, freeze ups and bacterial growth in the above systems. This work was procured via requests for quotations, RFQ 2019-2557, which were on November 20, received and read aloud in public on November 27, 2018. There were four bidders. The lowest acceptable price bid was by SYNTEC Corporation 4060 N. Dupont Hwy Unit No.9, New Castle, DE 19720. Last year’s contract was at $14,975.00. This year’s award is higher by $13,129.87 due to the fact that the scope of work has been increased to include preventative maintenance and repair at the cooling systems in Saunders and Riverside as well as the inclusion of a parts contingency of $8,000.00. This contract has a term of one year. Since this was a request for quotation and not a full public bid it does not have a provision for the annual renewal. Therefor a new rfq will have to be issued next year.
