Rationale:
|
This resolution is to grant the administration the authority to enter into contract as described above. In compliance with General Municipal Law 103, this contract was let for public bid were opened in public and read aloud on August 16, 2017. Bids were examined and all due diligence observed in determining the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
A total of 4 bids were received ranging up to $490,000 (including all alternates) and averaging $384,383.5. The work was designed with the School Facilities Management Department and estimated be $350,000.
After interviewing the apparent low bidder and confirming that they understood the scope of work, bids were found to be correct, and the firm had performed satisfactory for the Yonkers public Schools, Schools Facilities Management is recommending award of this project to Peter J. Landi, Inc., for the amount of $333,000.00.
The scope work of work for 109 Oak Street Play Area includes but is not limited to: removal of concrete sidewalks, debris, vegetation, soil, fencing, and old foundation walls; installation of new retaining walls and fence along property lines, concrete sidewalks, new catch basins and storm water retention systems, light poles, landscaping, and asphalt play area.
FOCUS POPULATION: The stakeholders of the Enrico Fermi School.
ASSESSMENT PROCESS: The School Facilities Management and Construction Manager will be inspecting the contractor’s work and monitoring the construction schedule through on-site inspections, biweekly progress meetings and record keeping.
CONTRACT DURATION: 277 Calendar Days.
PERSON ADMINISTERING CONTRACT: John P. Carr, P.E., Executive Director of School Facilities Management Department.

WHEREAS: bids were issued for public advertisement and opened on August 16, 2017 in compliance with General Municipal Law for Bid No. 6173 General Construction Work for the “109 Oak Street Play Area Project" Project No. 10809 at the Enrico Fermi School, and
WHEREAS: such bids were duly examined and as a result of this examination of the bids submitted, the administration has determined that Peter J. Landi, Inc., is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder with a bid of $333,000.00,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that Bid No. 6173 General Construction Contract for Project No. 10809 “109 Oak Street Play Area Project" at Enrico Fermi School to Peter J. Landi, Inc., 13 Bradhurst Avenue, Hawthorne, NY 10532 in an amount not to exceed $333,000 for a term of 277 calendar days.
