Rationale:
|
Via Resolution 17.5 at their stated meeting on January 20, 2016 the Board of Trustees awarded a requirements contract to KG&D Architects for an amount not to exceed $1,000,000.00, which was amended on June 20, 2017 to increase the original agreement by $500,000.00 for a total amount not to exceed $1,500,000.00. This resolution is to assign the following specific capital work under that contract.
KG&D has been engaged to undertake the Architectural/Engineering Services to upgrade and correct issues that have developed in the roofing and masonry that has been contributing to ceiling damage in select classrooms and stair wells.
This Task was not issued for RFP due to the size, specific scope and the need for speed on this project. The firm has worked on the previous Building Condition Survey.
This project is to be authorized for $230,000.00. The City capital bond fund will cover $30,000.00 for soft costs and the remaining $200,000.00 will be funded by future bond sales.
The scope of work is to include but not necessarily be limited to repair of the Schools roof, select masonry façade, water damaged interior finishes, and related asbestos abatement.
The services that KG&D will provide include but are not limited to; Review existing drawings and survey the school infrastructure and to confirm existing conditions. Confirm the scope of work and develop a project budget. Prepare construction documents and specifications for procurement, issuance of documents for public bid and provide the District with construction administration services.
Construction is planned for the summer of 2018 construction season.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: under Resolution 17.5 at the stated meeting on January 20, 2016, the Board of Education authorized the award of a requirements based, professional Architectural/Engineering services contract to KG&D Architects in response to District RFQ313 “Architectural & Engineering Services for the School Facilities Management Department” for an amount not to exceed $1 million, amended on June 20, 2017 to increase the original agreement by $500,000.00 for a total amount not to exceed $1,500,000.00 and
WHEREAS: work as defined under that contract is required for capital project 10824 “Select Roof And Masonry Repair” at Lincoln High School, and
WHEREAS: the response by KG&D Architects to request for proposals issued by the Facilities Department was deemed most advantageous to the District at a cost not to exceed $30,000.00, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to appoint KG&D Architects, 285 Main Street, Mt. Kisco, New York 10549, to the task of providing professional Architectural/Engineering for the capital project 10824 “Select Roof And Masonry Repair” at Lincoln High School for an amount of $30,000.00 effective March 22, 2018 under Contract No. 617160, “Architectural & Engineering Services for the School Facilities Management Department”.
