The College of Westchester Term: December 1, 2017 – August 31, 2018 Amount: $34,335 Scope: The College of Westchester will work together with the District to develop curriculum and provide concurrent enrollment for academic dual credit university/ college courses for students at Roosevelt High School – Early College Studies and Gorton High School during the 2017-18 school year. The target population is for accelerated 9th grade students and students in grades 10-12, who are underserved and highly motivated but have not necessarily received the academic preparation needed for a smooth transition into post-secondary education. WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to enter into a contract with The College of Westchester to purchase services to develop curriculum and provide concurrent enrollment for academic dual credit university/college courses for students at Roosevelt High School – Early College Studies and Gorton High School for the 2017-2018 school year, WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with The College of Westchester, a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and, WHEREAS the District has determined that these services can best be provided by The College of Westchester, and, WHEREAS the District has evaluated past services from the vendor and has determined that The College of Westchester has performed in a satisfactory manner, and NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with The College of Westchester at a cost not to exceed $34,335. It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel’s Office.
