Rationale: B & H Photo Video Inc.
Term: 03/01/2018-06/30/2018
Amount: $33,082.92 (pricing is per Rockland County contract RFB-RC-2015-0060)
Scope: The vision of the new Business and Media Communications CTE pathway is to create a Multimedia Design Center that will provide students with the facilities and equipment to create media content for use within Roosevelt and the district as a whole. This Center will be a learning resource but also part of a larger strategy to develop communication and make use of media for all disciplines within the Roosevelt community. There is an abundance of research and evidence that communication skills are what most employers are ultimately seeking for the widest variety of higher-paying jobs.
Roosevelt has the basic infrastructure for this new Center in the form of television studios that were conceived in the 1980s for analog television production. To prepare our students for 21st century technology, many upgrades will be needed. This includes computers, professional video cameras, sound equipment and peripheral equipment such as lighting. Additionally, equipment for doing on location work will give students the ability to expand beyond the studio and beyond the Roosevelt campus itself.
