Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS, The Yonkers Kiwanis Club, Yonkers Board of Education Trustees and Mayor Mike Spano jointly sponsored the City's 2018-2019 Yonkers Public Schools Teachers of the Year Awards. Established by the Yonkers Kiwanis Club and the Board of Education in 1954, followed by the Board’s adoption of the Teacher Hall of Fame on July 13, 1978, the award celebrates Yonkers teachers who further excellence in education.
WHEREAS Marleni Llenin has been selected as Teacher of the Year 2018 - 2019 and shall be permanently honored in the Teacher Hall of Fame of the Yonkers City School District, and
WHEREAS Ms. Llenin joined the Yonkers Schools District in 1995 as fourth grade teacher at the Enrico Fermi School, and in 2006 she transferred to Westchester Hills School 29 as a fourth grade teacher. In 2009 she took her current position as third grade teacher at Westchester Hill School 29.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That Marleni Llenin an outstanding educator and professional, a mentor and friend to students and teachers, be permanently honored as Teacher of the Year 2018 - 2019.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That it is with great pleasure that the Board of Education of the City of Yonkers joins the Kiwanis Club of Yonkers and Mayor Mike Spano in bestowing this honor on a truly dedicated teacher who works both in and out of the classroom to support high quality education for the children of Yonkers:
