Rationale: The subject contract provides a means for two annual extensions of the contract under mutual consent of the parties under the same terms and conditions in the original bid.

This resolution is to authorize the Superintendent of Schools to extend the subject contract for one year

This is the first of two possible extensions.

This contract is to continue to provide annual testing and maintenance of the fuel oil storage tanks throughout the District in compliance with NYS Law and as mandated by the Westchester County Dept. of Health.

ASSESSMENT PROCESS: School Facilities Management Department will evaluate performance of contractor with on-site inspections

Resolution: Ladies and Gentlemen:

WHEREAS in compliance with General Municipal Law for the Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of Fuel Oil Tanks and Protection Systems in Yonkers Public Schools, and

WHEREAS Board Item 17.4, dated December 21, 2016, was approved awarding said contract to Luzon Environmental Services in the amount of $121,007.85

WHEREAS bid specifications provide for annual extensions by the mutual consent of both parties, under the same terms and conditions of the original contract, for up to two additional years, and

WHEREAS the administration recommends the first extension of this contract from December 22, 2017 to December 21, 2018 at the same cost of $121,007.85.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to extend this contract with Luzon Environmental Services as stated.
