Term: February, 2018 – August, 2018 Amount: $69,520 Scope: Black United Fund Federation of New York, Inc. /Computer Adventures (BUFNY/CA) will provide Martin Luther King, Jr. Academy with afterschool classes in coding, video game making and robotics. This service will increase children’s involvement and understanding in literacy as well as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). Contractor: J. WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to enter into a contract with Black United Fund Federation of New York, Inc. to purchase consulting services to support literacy and STEM afterschool programming at Martin Luther King, Jr. Academy from February 2018 to August 2018, WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with Black United Fund Federation of New York, Inc., a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and, WHEREAS the District has determined that these services can best be provided by Black United Fund Federation of New York, Inc., and, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Black United Fund Federation of New York, Inc. at a cost not to exceed $69,520. It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel’s Office.
