DONATION of $10,500.00
Account: Donation
Scope: The Institute's outreach program provides music programs for children in special education setting. Consultation and professional development are also provided to school district music educators working with students with special needs.
Music programs can address the physical, emotional, social and cognitive well being of children with a wide variety of needs. Using the inherent qualities of music,students are provided opportunities for social interaction, allow for emotional expression and increase communication skills. Music programs can make a profound difference in the lives of those who participate, encouraging healing, growth and change.
The Music Conservatory of Westchester program will run for approximately 15 weeks. Yonkers Montessori Academy will secure a music room for the program.

WHEREAS the Administration wishes to accept this donation from the Music Conservatory of Westchester starting January 2018 thru August 2018, and
NOW THEREFOR BE IT RESOLVED: that the Board of Education hereby authorized the Superintendent of School to accept this donation of $10,500.00 for a music program for students who attend Yonkers Montessori Academy. This is a donation and there will be no cost to the District.
