Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS, at its October 14, 1986 meeting, the Rotary Club of East Yonkers Board of Directors did develop and institute a LEADERSHIP IN EDUCATION AWARD to be designated annually to an outstanding administrator in the Yonkers Public Schools, who has demonstrated a consistent commitment to quality education and community service, and
WHEREAS, IN 1997 Jade Sharp began her career in Yonkers as an assistant principal, at Mark Twain Jr. High School; in 2000 she moved to Lincoln High School as the assistant principal.
Mrs. Sharp's first principal position was at Roosevelt High School in 2005. She remained there until 2013 when she was asked to come to Central Office to supervise the District Guidance and the Arts Departments as principal on Special Assignment, and in 2019 she moved to her current position as principal at Yonkers Middle High School.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education extends sincere appreciation and congratulations to Jade Sharp, who continues to serve with distinction with over 23 years in the Yonkers Public Schools; and
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Board of Education joins with the Rotary Club of East Yonkers in presenting the 2019-2020 LEADERSHIP IN EDUCATION AWARD to Jade Sharp.
