Rationale:
|
An emergency declaration was issued to provide for the design and construction by Mengler Mechanical to provide and install an 8” plumbing house trap, clean out plugs, clean out tee and gaskets. The house trap is located in the closet of a classroom. Any major leak will flood the basement and cause damage. It is imperative that repairs be done at the earliest.
The level of difficulty with the specified repairs and the full schedule of work precludes this work being done with in-house forces. It is expected that the cost of the repairs will not exceed $20,000.00.
Mengler Mechanical has an exemplary history with the District in low bid work and past emergency declarations.

WHEREAS: Mengler Mechanical responded to a District call to evaluate and propose means and method for replacement of the house trap, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to appoint Mengler Mechanical, Inc., 1689 Route 22, Putnam Business Park Brewster, Ny 10509 under Emergency Declaration for CIP 10880 “Emergency Pool Drain House Trap Repair ” at Yonkers Montessori Academy, to Mengler Mechanical, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $20,000.00. Term is for 183 calendar days.
