Rationale: This was awarded to Parkway under GML 103 in November 15, 2017 BID # 6218 and per the terms listed in the contract is being extended for another year by mutual consent.

IPM is a process for managing, preventing, and suppressing pests with minimal impact on human health, the environment, and non-target organisms. IPM incorporates all reasonable measures by properly identifying, monitoring, and controlling pests through the use of cultural, physical, biological, and chemical control methods to reduce pests to acceptable levels. Pesticides must only be used as a last resort, and if pesticides are needed, the least toxic pest specific alternative must always be selected.

Resolution: Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS bids were solicited and opened on November 15, 2017, in compliance with General Municipal Law for Integrated Pest Management in Yonkers Public Schools, and

WHEREAS Board Item 16.10, dated January 17, 2018, was approved awarding a contract to Parkway Exterminating Co., Inc. in the amount of $55,993.00 and

WHEREAS bid specifications provide for annual extensions by the mutual consent of both parties under the same terms and conditions of the original contract for up to two additional years, and

WHEREAS the administration recommends the extension of this contract from January 18, 2019 through January 17, 2020
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to extend this annual contract with Parkway Exterminating Co., Inc., at the same cost of $55,993.00.
