Rationale: The window shades at Cornell are the old metal, venetian blind type with extensive and long adjustment cords. These types are not recommended for use in schools and most are in poor condition. This is to replace those shades with roll up dense mesh fabric Alkenz 4000N by RollEase.
RFB6219 was let for public bid and opened on December 29, 2017. There were three bidders. The apparent low bidder Azar Decorating had qualified their bid by cutting quantities and was rejected. Had they bid it straight they would have been the second bidder. After interviewing the low bidder, Window Wear by Gina, LLC and confirming that they understood the scope of work, bids were found to be correct the administration is recommending award of this contract for $12,600.00.
