Rationale: FOOD SERVICE DEPARTMENT

RESOLUTION ABSTRACT:
FOR USDA COMMODITY ITEMS (CHICKEN) DIVERTED FOR PROCESSING-CAFETERIA DEPARTMENT FOR THE 2017-2018 SCHOOL YEAR

FOCUS POPULATION: Students, teachers and employees of the Yonkers City School District as specified in Schedule No. RFB-6126.

CONTRACTOR: Lowest responsible bid submitted to the Purchasing Department in compliance with General Municipal Law.


RATIONALE:

Contracts were awarded under RFB 6126, and approved by BOE and BOCS. Subsequently, T.A. Morris and Sons could not supply Tyson Chicken Nuggets as stated in the bid document. Subsequently, contract will be awarded to second lowest bidder, Maximum Quality Foods, who has agreed to honor their bid price.

Ladies and Gentlemen:

WHEREAS, bids for Direct Diversion Products were solicited and opened on April 21,2017 in compliance with General Municipal Law and as a result of examination of the bids submitted, the administration recommends the award to the lowest responsible bidder.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the award for Direct Diversion Products (Chicken) for the 2017-2018 school year be awarded as follows:

Maximum Quality Foods $59,318.00
TOTAL AWARD $59,318.00

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: The Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into a contract with the above named firm.
