Rationale:
|
By Res 16.09 on December 15, 2015 the Board of Trustees authorized the award of a Capital fund construction contract to Consolidate Edison of New York to furnish and install a new gas service the Dodson School. This required the district to advance to fees of $272,420 to Con Ed on July 25, 2015.
Con Ed did not perform this work and on May 19, 2017 they informed the District that they had a new plan for supplying gas to the Dodson School which would has produced a credit of $261,606 in the above installation costs. The new plan will cost the District approximately $10,814.
Con Ed has issued and the District received a check in the amount of $261,606.00
The Architectural/Engineering (A/E) work was designed and Con Ed handled by Eisenbach & Ruhnke Engineering P.C. (E&R).

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: By Resolution 16.09 on December 15, 2015 the Board of Trustees authorized the award of a capital fund construction contract to Consolidate Edison of New York to furnish and install a new gas service the Dodson School for an amount not to exceed $272,420, and
WHEREAS: Con Ed has since determined that an alternate gas service configuration was available that has a cost of $10,814, and
WHEREAS: this is option is the most economical and fulfills gas supply requirements for Capital Improvement Project No.10458 “Upgrades to Electrical and HVAC Systems” at ROBERT C. DODSON SCHOOL, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that Consolidated Edison of New York be issued Change Order 1 (credit) to undertake - GAS LINE INSTALLATION for Project No. 10458 “Upgrades to Electrical and HVAC Systems” at ROBERT C. DODSON SCHOOL in an amount not to exceed $10,814.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Yonkers Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to execute this contract with this vendor.
