Rationale:
|
Article XXV, section 873.2513.1.b of Westchester County's Petroleum Bulk Storage code requires the registration of all our petroleum bulk storage tanks in the Yonkers Public School District be renewed every five years. The renewals for the district are due April 19, 2018, except for two that are due May 7, 2018. The District has a total of 66 fuel oil storage tanks. At this time 56 tanks in 34 schools are due for registration renewal and covered by this resolution. The remainder will be registered at their due dates. It should be noted that this code has recently been amended to decrease the renewal interval to three years.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: according to Article XXV, section 873.2513.1.b of Westchester County's Petroleum Bulk Storage code, the Westchester County Health Department mandates the registration of all Petroleum Bulk Storage Tanks in various Yonkers Public School District be renewed every five years, and
WHEREAS: fifty-six Petroleum Bulk Storage Tanks in 34 Yonkers Public Schools are presently due for their five-year registration renewal, and
WHEREAS: the fee for these registrations is $14,725.00 due the County of Westchester prior to April 19, 2018
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Yonkers Board of Education authorizes the Purchasing Agent to issue a purchase order to Westchester County Health Department in the amount of $14,725.00.
