Rationale: Yonkers Partners in Education (YPIE)
Term: September 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020
Amount: $80,000
Scope: Work with the Grant Manager and Grant Coordinator on the Implementation of the NYGEAR UP Grant at Gorton HS and Lincoln HS to increase the number of students who are prepared to enter and succeed in Post-Secondary education and training by providing academic support, enrichment, non-cognitive life skills, career development and mentoring activities.

Resolution: WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to enter into a contract with Yonkers Partners in Education (YPIE) to purchase consulting services to support GEARUP students to build the capacity of the District to deliver high quality and effective career development activities for the 2019-2020 school year,

WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with Yonkers Partners in Education (YPIE) a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and,

WHEREAS the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Yonkers Partners in Education (YPIE) to provide these services, and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Yonkers Partners in Education (YPIE) at a cost not to exceed $80,000.

It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel’s Office.
