Rationale:
|
As required by the State Education Department, the Board of Education acting as a lead agency must satisfy the requirements of State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA). For the listed project(s), the School Facilities Management Department has determined that the project(s) listed is “TYPE II” action and require no further environmental review under SEQRA.
A “TYPE II” action is one that has been determined not to have any significant environmental impact or is otherwise precluded from environmental review under SEQRA. TYPE II Actions never require the preparation of a determination of significance or a draft environmental impact statement. When an action is classified as “TYPE II” the review under SEQRA is completed.
The following capital improvement projects are hereby declared to be TYPE II designation:
10732 Restoration of Envelope, Security, Site & Parking Phase I at School 30,
10732 Classroom Addition Under SSBA Phase II at School 30;
10812 Reconstruction of Portions of the Building at Yonkers Middle High School;
10814 Window Replacement, Site and Security Work at Patricia A. DiChiaro School;
10815 Boiler System Replacement at Patricia A. DiChiaro School;
10816 Boiler System Replacement and Asbestos Abatement at School 9;
10817 Exterior Envelope, Windows, Doors, Site and Security at WBoyce Thompson School
10819 Improvements to Gymnasium Complex and Exterior Door Replacement at Saunders High Trades & Technical High School.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: based upon the review by the Yonkers Board of Education of the proposed capital project set forth herein, the Yonkers Board of Education hereby finds that the Proposed action constitutes a “Type II Action” as such term is defined in the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) and the Regulations of the Department of Environmental conservation of the State of New York (NYCRR Part 617), and
WHEREAS: the following project can be properly classified as TYPE II action:
Capital Improvement Projects 10732 Restoration of Envelope, Security, Site & Parking Phase I at School 30, 10732 Classroom Addition Under SSBA Phase II at School 30; 10812 Reconstruction of Portions of the Building at Yonkers Middle High School;10814 Window Replacement, Site and Security Work at Patricia A. DiChiaro School; 10815 Boiler System Replacement at Patricia A.
