Rationale:
|
This is to assign the subject task for 10926 “Structural Survey” at Yonkers Middle High School, to, Fuller & D’Angelo PC, Architects and Planners for $24,000 for a term of 730 calendar days. This is under their standing requirements contract 2020-0628 for Architectural Services.
In the course of performing work on CIP 10812 “Reconstruction of Portions of the Building” at Yonkers Middle High School two structural concrete columns being sounded for surface repairs were found to have pockets of deep, lose and weak concrete. The architect of record, CPL, under District direction did conduct some concrete sampling producing a report that called for further investigation.
The current situation is not unsafe but needs to be corrected in a timely manner.
At this point it was determined by the District that Fuller & D’Angelo Architects would better serve the purpose of scoping and designing the requisite repairs. Their proposal in response is for a comprehensive structural investigation of as-built drawings, site inspections, sounding, sampling and testing. This will result in a schematic design. Design development and construction documents will be completed under a separate agreement.
The proposal is for $24,000.00 including a $10,000 contingency for added reimbursable work.
This project cost is not expected to exceed $500,000 but is yet to be determined. Construction is planned for the spring of 2022.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: under Resolution 15.15 dated February 26, 2020, the Board authorized the award of Contract 2020-0628 for Architectural Services to Fuller & D’Angelo, PC. Architects in response to District RFQ404 for an amount of $1,000,000.00, and
WHEREAS: architectural services as specified under Contract 2020-0628 are required for CIP10926 “Structural Survey” at Yonkers Middle High School, and
WHEREAS: the response by Fuller & D’Angelo, PC. Architects, to a request for proposal was deemed most advantageous to the District with assignment Architectural services of the proposal at a cost not to exceed $24,000.00.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is authorized to assign Fuller & D’Angelo, PC. Architects, P.C., 45 Knollwood Road, Elmsford, New York 10523 to the task of providing Architectural services for CIP10926 “Structural Survey” at Yonkers Middle High School, under On-Call Services Contract 2020-0628 to Fuller & D’Angelo, PC. Architects, in the amount of $24,000.00 for 730 calendar days.
