Rationale: This amendment will decrease their assignment fee from $55,500.00 to $35,500.00.

Via Resolution 17.5 at their stated meeting on January 20, 2016 the Board of Trustees awarded a requirements contract to Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI), for an amount not to exceed $1 million.
Via Resolution 22.22 at the June 2017 stated meeting this contract was amended to increase the upset funding limit to $1.5 million and extend the term for another 3 years.

This resolution is to take a credit for diminishing the requirement for GPI to provide enhanced construction administration for a small portion (exterior doors and security) for the subject project. (Res 17.9 March 16, 2016) Their scope of work will be limited to architectural construction support for the entire project. The original fee for the enhanced CA was $25,500. This fee is reduced to $5,500 to reflect the reduced scope of work now required of GPI.

When this task was first issued the project scope was limited to the replacement of exterior doors and the installation of a basic security system in the building plus the construction of site parking improvements. The project cost was estimated to be $2.5 million. The project scope has since been expanded to include new roofing, windows, expanded site work and a new Hi Tech security system consistent with City of Yonkers standards. The new budget for the project is $6 million.

As the project expanded, it was apparent that the construction management would be best served using a third party. GPI’s involvement in the construction phase was therefore limited to architectural construction support. It is being reduced here to for consistency and ease of management.

The full–time enhanced construction inspection/administration services including daily inspections and construction management have been reassigned to Savin Engineers under BOE Resolution 20.15 at the April 18, 2018 stated meeting.

WHEREAS: under Resolution 17.9 at the stated meeting on March 16, 2016, the Board of Education authorized the Assignment of Professional Architectural/Engineering Services Task for PO 2016-618061, CIP 10732 “Replacement of Exterior Doors and Site Improvements” at School 30 to Greenman-Pedersen, Inc for an amount not to exceed $55,500.00, and

WHEREAS: a credit in the amount of $20,000.00 is to be taken for rescinding enhanced construction administration services from the Task.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to amend the task for PO 2016-618061 of Greenman-Pedersen, Inc., 400 Rella Boulevard, Suite 207, Montebello, NY 10901 for rescinding enhanced construction administration services for capital project CIP10732 “Replacement of Exterior Doors and Site Improvements” at School 30, under Requirements Contract 617109 to Greenman-Pedersen, Inc., for a CREDIT in the amount of $20,000.00 revising the assigned task from $55,500 to $35,500.
