Rationale:
Amendment 1 PO 2021-3726 CIP 10833 “Replacement of the Underground Fuel Oil Storage Tank System” at Roosevelt High School – Early College Studies with CPL Architecture & Engineering for $12,500.00 increasing assignment amount from $34,000 to $46,500.

Via Resolution 22.14 dated June 19, 2018 the Board of Trustees authorized the award of PO 2019-0133 for the subject assignment to Sammel Architects. They completed and were paid for $18,800.00 of the $34,000.00 task leaving a balance of $15,200.00.

In the course of the work, Sammel was taken over by CPL Architects as described in Resolution 15.2 dated April 22, 2020. The balance of the work from the original assignment in the amount of $15,200.00 was assigned to CPL under PO 2021-3726.

The original task was to complete the design and SED filing for the replacement of the oil tank and explore the installation of a new gas service for a dual fuel system. This was as per the emergency declaration dated April 16, 2018.

CPL who has taken over the work is now assigned the added work of completing the gas conversion design and to create two new separate projects, tank replacement and gas conversion, to meet SED requirements. This added work is for the negotiated sum of $12,500.00.

This will increase the original task from $34,000 to $46,500.00 and increase PO 2021-3726 from $15,200.00 to $27,700.00.

Ladies and Gentlemen:

WHEREAS: by Resolution Item 22.14 dated June 19, 2018, the Board of Trustees authorized the assignment of PO 2019-0133 for Architectural/Engineering services on CIP 10833 the “Replacement of the Underground Fuel Oil Storage Tank System” at Roosevelt High School – Early College Studies to Sammel Architecture for $34,000.00, and

WHEREAS: by Resolution 15.2 dated April 22, 2020 the Board of Trustees authorized the re-assignment of several capital project assignments including CIP 10833 “Replacement of the Underground Fuel Oil Storage Tank System” at Roosevelt High School – Early College Studies from Sammel Architecture to CPL Architecture & Engineering, and

WHEREAS: Additional work is required for completion of the gas conversion design and to create two new separate projects, tank replacement and gas conversion, to meet SED requirements in the amount of $12,500.00 increasing the original assignment from $34,000.00 to $46,500.00.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to amend the task to CPL Architects, Engineers, Landscape, Architects & Surveyor, D.P.C, 50 Front Street, Suite 202, Newburgh, NY 12550 for additional engineering services on 10833 “Replacement of the Underground Fuel Oil Storage Tank System” at Roosevelt High School – Early College Studies for an additional $12,500.00, increasing the fee from $34,000.00 to $46,500.00 and no change in contract term.
