Rationale:
|
This is to purchase four (4) replacement cargo vans. The existing vans, No.’s 37, 38, 39 and 40 are no longer economically serviceable and will be auctioned to the public through the City DPW. The Department has been attempting to replace these vehicles for two years. They are to be purchased through piggybacking onto the above contract Onondaga County Bid RFB 8415.
The vendor is Van Bortel Ford, 71 Marsh Rd. East, Rochester, NY 14445 under Onondaga County Bid No. RFB 8415 which expires in model year 2021 from Van Bortel Ford,in the amount of shown above.
This is to purchase four (4) replacement cargo vans. The existing vans, No.’s 37, 38, 39 and 40 have been in service for 17 years and are no longer economically serviceable and will be auctioned to the public. They are to be purchased through piggybacking onto the above contract Onondaga County Bid RFB 8415. The outgoing vehicles are:

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS: the School Facilities Management Department is in need of (4) four replacement cargo vans, and
WHEREAS: the vehicles currently used in this role is are no longer economically serviceable, and
WHEREAS: suitable replacement vehicles are available under Onondaga County Contract Bid Reference 8415 which expires February 21, 2021, and
WHEREAS: the new vehicles to be purchased are 2018 Ford Transit XL250 cargo vans at a cost of $28,346.34 each for total of $113,385.36 including delivery and all fees, and
WHEREAS: in accordance with General Municipal Law, procurement via such contract is permissible and prudent,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the award for purchasing the above four Ford Transit XL 250 Cargo Vans a cost of $28,346.34 each for total of $113,385.36 including delivery and all fees be made to Van Bortel Ford, 71 Marsh Rd. East, Rochester, NY 14445 under Onondaga County Bid RFB 8415 for a term of 180 calendar days. |
