Mercy College Center for STEM Education
Term: 9/1/2018-8/31/2019
Amount: $69,610.00
Scope: Mercy College Center for STEM education with be providing STEM curriculum professional development to 6th grade teachers from each PK-6 and PK-8 school in the district and participating non-public schools. The professional development will be focused on developing 3 dimensional instruction and integrating inquiry based engineering tasks in the classroom.

Resolution
WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to enter into a contract with Mercy College Center for STEM Education to purchase consulting services to support all PK-6 and PK-8 schools by providing STEM curriculum professional development to 6th grade teachers from each PK-6 and PK-8 school in the district and participating non-public schools. The professional development will be focused on developing 3 dimensional instruction and integrating inquiry based engineering tasks in the classroom for the 2018-2019 school year,

WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with Mercy College Center for STEM Education a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and,

WHEREAS the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Mercy College Center for STEM Education to provide these services, and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Mercy College Center for STEM Education at a cost not to exceed 69,610.00.

It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel’s Office.
