Sarah Lawrence College Term: January, 2018 – August 31, 2018 Amount: $25,000 Scope: Sarah Lawrence College will provide its Theatre Outreach Program to 9th and 10th grade students at Palisade Preparatory School during the 2017-18 school year. This program will provide students with an interdisciplinary theatre curriculum that includes theatre games, theatre exercises, acting, playwriting, journaling, theatre movement, theatre design, music, songwriting and improvisation which will support the development of student literacy skills, empathic skills, public speaking skills, ensemble building, critical thinking, collaborative techniques, teamwork building and social skills. Resolution
|
WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to enter into a contract with Sarah Lawrence College to purchase consulting services to support the implementation of the college’s Theatre Outreach Program to 9th and 10th grade students at Palisade Preparatory School for the 2017-2018 school year, WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with Sarah Lawrence College, a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and, WHEREAS the District has determined that these services can best be provided by Sarah Lawrence College, and, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Sarah Lawrence College at a cost not to exceed $25,000. It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel’s Office. |
