Westchester Barber Academy
Term: 2024-2025 school year
Amount: $16,750.00
Scope: The Yonkers Pathways to Success (PTS) Adult Education program is requisitioning the execution of a contract to provide Intro to Barbering Instruction to adult students in the Pathways to Success Program in person, using the Cengage System, including new topics, Cosmetology/Women’s Hair. Westchester Barber Academy will provide instruction resulting in the Apprentice Barber and Infection Control certification. New program features will also include tutorials in social media & financial literacy. Ten (10) students at $1,675.00 per student will be charged to the Perkins Grant.

Resolution
WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to enter into a contract with Westchester Barber Academy to purchase consulting services/goods/material to support the Adult Education Barbering Program for the 2024-2025 school year.

WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with Westchester Barber Academy a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department.

WHEREAS the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Westchester Barber Academy to provide these services/goods/material.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Westchester Barber Academy at a cost not to exceed amount of $16,750.00.

It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel’s Office.
