Rationale:
Via Resolution 17.2 at their stated meeting on February 10, 2016 the Board of Trustees awarded the above subject assignment to Fuller and D’Angelo, P.C., Architects (F&D) in the amount of $419,500.

This amendment is required for added construction administration services. This project was originally let for bid for the 2017 construction season. However, only the roofing contract was fit for award and was completed at that time. The remainder of the work had to be re-bid for 2018 construction. F&D’s original contract had CM for only one season (2017). This amendment covers the CM for the second unanticipated (2018) season.

The overall scope of work for CIP10656 includes but is not be limited to: the reconstruction of the main shingle roof and the auditorium masonry (completed in 2017), new exterior doors, the refurbishment of the main gym, new hallway ceilings & lights, new ADA accommodations at the south entrance and cafeteria restrooms and the reconfiguration of three basement classrooms. The cost of this project is roughly $7.3 million.

Ladies and Gentlemen:

WHEREAS: under Resolution 17.5 at the stated meeting on January 20, 2016, the Board of Education authorized the award of a requirements based, professional Architectural/Engineering services contract to Fuller and D’Angelo, P.C., Architects in response to District RFQ313 “Architectural & Engineering Services for the School Facilities Management Department” for an amount not to exceed $1 million, amended on March 22, 2018 to increase the original agreement by $500,000.00 for a total amount not to exceed $1,500,000.00 and

WHEREAS: work as defined under that contract is required for capital project 10656 “Reconstruction of Portions of the Exterior Envelope, Select Interior Finishes and HVAC Systems” at Gorton High School, and

WHEREAS: an amendment is required to include additional services to the CIP 10656,

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to appoint Fuller and D’Angelo, P.C., Architects, 45 Knollwood Road, Elmsford, NY 10523, to the task of providing professional Architectural/Engineering for the capital project 10656 “Reconstruction of Portions of the Exterior Envelope, Select Interior Finishes and HVAC Systems” at Gorton High School for an additional amount of $61,000.00 increasing the contract amount from $419,000 to $480,500 under Contract No. 617160, “Architectural & Engineering Services for the School Facilities Management Department”.
