Mercy College Center for STEM Education Amendment Term: 11/20/2018-8/31/2019 Amount: $70,860 Scope: This amendment will provide additional professional development workshops in addition to providing STEM curriculum professional development to 6th grade teachers from each PK-6 and PK-8 school in the district and participating non-public schools. The Mercy College Center for STEM education professional development will focus on developing three-dimensional instruction and integrating inquiry based engineering tasks in the classroom. This is an amendment to the existing Contract #2019-00000296 of $69,610 (BOE approved 8/15/18 and BOCS approved 8/23/18 and represents an increase of $1,250). The total contract amount will be $70,860.00. |

Resolution
|
WHEREAS the Board of Education wishes to enter into a contract with Mercy College Center for STEM Education Amendment to purchase consulting services to support all PK-6 and PK-8 schools by providing additional STEM curriculum professional development to 6th grade teachers from each PK-6 and PK-8 school in the district and participating non-public schools. The professional development will focus on developing three-dimensional instruction and integrating inquiry based engineering tasks in the classroom for the 2018-2019 school year, WHEREAS the district administration has designed in conjunction with Mercy College Center for STEM Education Amendment a program which meets the objectives set forth by the Board and the New York State Education Department, and, WHEREAS the Board of Education authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Mercy College Center for STEM Education Amendment to provide these services, and NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Board of Education hereby authorizes the Superintendent of Schools to enter into an agreement with Mercy College Center for STEM Education Amendment at a cost not to exceed 70,860.00 It is acknowledged and agreed that pursuant to the terms of that certain intermunicipal agreement by and between the City of Yonkers Board of Education (“BOE”) and the City of Yonkers (the “City”) as filed in the Office of the City Clerk on June 16, 2014, the terms of this agreement are subject to review and revision by the Corporation Counsel, as well as approval by the City’s Board of Contract and Supply. Furthermore, this Agreement shall not be enforceable until signed by both parties and approved by the Corporation Counsel’s Office. |
