18.7 Assignment of CAPITAL Architectural/Engineering Services for CIP 10849 Emergency Declaration “ROOF REPLACEMENT & INTERIOR RESTORATIONS” at Paideia School 15 to Fuller & D’Angelo, PC. under a standing requirements contract No. 617108 in an amount not to exceed $225,00.00. Rationale:
Via Resolution 17.5 at their stated meeting on January 20, 2016 the Board of Trustees awarded a requirements contract 617108 to Fuller & D’ Angelo Architects and Planners for an amount not to exceed $1 million. This resolution is to assign the following specific capital work under that contract.

Via Resolution 16.9 at their stated meeting on March 22, 2018 the Board of Trustees increased the standing requirements contract 617108 to Fuller and D’Angelo P.C. Architects and Planners to $1.5 million and extended the term to January 16, 2021.

This resolution assigns the subject task to F&D under the standing requirements contract 617108 via a new purchase order.

F&D will be required to produce the design plans, specifications, estimates, SED building permits, bid documents and low bidder recommendations for the above referenced project. F&D is also to provide all construction management services.

The scope of construction work anticipated will include but not be limited to the replacement of the roof and select interior improvements. Overall project cost is anticipated to be $3,200,000.00. A more precise scope and construction cost estimate will be defined under the Schematic Design portion of this design work. Roof construction is anticipated to be substantially completed in late November.

This Task was not issued for RFP due to the size, specific scope and the need for speed on this project. Also, the actual roofing engineer desired by the district would need to be hired by any other proposer. It was apparent that issuing and RFP would not save any money and would delay getting the work started.

Ladies and Gentlemen;

WHEREAS: An Emergency Declaration was issued on October 5, 2018 for Paideia School #15 “ROOF REPLACEMENT & INTERIOR RESTORATIONS” and

WHEREAS: Fuller & D’Angelo, PC. indicated that they were capable and ready to provide such design work, and

WHEREAS: The District has a substantial successful history with Fuller & D’Angelo, PC., and

WHEREAS: Fuller & D’Angelo, PC. has indicated that the cost to the District of the work calculated and negotiated to date is not to exceed $225,000.00,

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to award the above contract to Fuller & D’Angelo, PC. 45 Knollwood Road, Elmsford, NY 10523 in an amount not to exceed $225,000.00 for a term of 365 calendar days.
