Rationale:
|
A change order is a written agreement between the District and its contractor to change a building construction contract. They add to, delete from, or otherwise alter the work and/or progress schedule in the contract bid documents. CO’s are caused by any of three situations that can arise on a project: unforeseen conditions, design errors and omissions and owner directed extra work.
There was only one item of additional work totaling $17,000.00 which was paid for under the $30,000 contract contingency. This item of work was for owner directed extra work to remove and paint over graffiti on masonry facades adjacent to pitched roof areas and upper flat roof areas.
This is a credit Change Order of $18,800.00 for the remaining balance of $13,000 to the contract contingency, credit for unused unit price bid of metal deck replacement in amount of $3,000.00, credit for unused unit price bid of wood blocking replacement in amount of $300.00, and for unused unit price bid of insulation at drains in amount of $2,500.00 |

Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS by Resolution Board Item No. 17.12 at the Board of Trustees stated meeting on May 17, 2017, contract No. 2017-00000513 was recommended for award to BBR Contracting Corp., 163 22nd Street, Brooklyn, NY 11232 and,
WHEREAS: in the course of executing the contracted work it was determined that additional allowance work was not required to be performed for a credit in the amount of $18,800.00, decreasing the overall cost of the contract from $305,800.00 to $287,000.00.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Superintendent of Schools is hereby authorized to issue Change Order 1 to Contract 2017-00000513, Construction Contract, Project No. 10800 “Roof Replacement Over the Swimming Pool" at YONKERS MONTESSORI ACADEMY to BBR Contracting Corp. for a CREDIT in the amount of $18,800.00 decreasing the contract amount from $305,800.00 to $287,000.00. |
